Frequently Asked Questions
Right now, I’m telehealth only. Virtual therapy works the same way in-person therapy does, just online.
Grab your phone (if you’re not already holding it…) and reach out to schedule a free initial consultation. Call or text (973) 897-1919, or email dan@larrazintegrative.com, and we’ll get you on the calendar.
Sessions are 45 minutes.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are subject to the full session fee. You can cancel or reschedule by text, email, or through the online client portal.
I work most with men, couples, and adolescents, though I also currently see women in my practice.
I work best with clients who are motivated for therapy and feel ready to create meaningful change in their lives. My approach tends to resonate most with people who are interested in exploring the root cause of patterns rather than seeking a quick fix or surface-level solutions.
You’ll likely get the most out of our work together if you’re open to exploration, feedback, and self-reflection, and if you’re committed to showing up consistently for yourself and the process.
If you feel ready to invest in your personal growth and commit to the process, there’s a good chance we’ll be a great fit, and I ask that you come equally invested in your own growth journey.
I have a master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University, with additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
Yes. I’m currently licensed in New Jersey, and soon to be licensed in New York.
I love my couch at my house, but we’re meeting virtually.
I hope you love your furniture and think it’s comfortable. That would be tragic if you didn’t, and you should probably get a new couch if so.
If you want to lie down on your own couch, knock yourself out.
If you easily cry at something (like hearing “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban), buckle up. Not joking. (Ok, kinda am joking. But not really. Mostly am. Crying is welcomed.)
Sorry, man, but you’re gonna have to get your own tissues cuz I don’t have an office yet. I’d recommend two-ply (also recommend two-ply TP as well; it’s worth the extra money).
Yes, you are, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll answer all of them. Also, I have the right to ask you why you’re curious to know ;)
MyFitnessPal, ESPN, Bible App, Chipotle, Amazon.
LOVE sushi.
Loosen Your Grip on What You Can't Force
A grip loosens when somebody who can see your hands says so plainly. That's most of what happens here.
There's a version of the conversation with your son where nobody braces for it. A drive home where you walk in with something left. A bedtime that stops being a test.
You don't need to have it figured out before you start. The work asks two things: honesty in the room, and follow-through outside it.
Email me at dan@larrazintegrative.com, and we'll set up a consultation. Bring the version of the problem you'd normally keep to yourself.
